Primary 4 and 5 Mrs Kelly

Boys and Girls in my Primary 4/5 class,

A massive ‘congratulations’ to all of you for the hard work you put in during our Home-School Learning Journey this term! You have made me so proud during ‘Lock-down 2020’, a time we will never forget! I am just amazed at the strength and resilience you have shown during these uncertain and difficult times.

I have loved looking at all of your lovely photographs that you sent me each week and I have had such a giggle watching the funny videos sent through too. It was so nice to see your little faces and have a glimpse at the fun activities you were completing at home. It has been wonderful to see so many of you learning new skills such as baking, carrying out science experiments, creating beautiful art work, learning new dance routines, keeping fit with Joe Wicks and helping out around the house!

You have all been an absolute pleasure to teach this year. I smile when I think of the fun times we had together in our classroom; making dinosaur lands, covering Mr Bradley in spider’s web at Halloween, working together to decorate our class Christmas tree and singing your little hearts out repeatedly, when learning the words of our song for assembly. I still laugh when I think of how energetic you all were that morning, dancing away with those big beaming smiles that just melt my heart! Always remember boys and girls to ‘be the change you want to see in the world, as change starts with us!’ Your teachers next year will be very lucky to have you and I have told them great things about each and every one of you!

Over the summer holidays I would encourage you to do a little bit of work to keep your brain active and fresh for September. Keep revising your times tables, spellings and mental maths facts in your learning books and don’t forget to use your Mathletics account. Make sure you continue to read too, ’The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!’ Reading is like dreaming with your eyes open and I want all of you to 'dream big' always!

Thank you so much for your support during this school year and in particular during this final term. You have all done a fantastic job taking on the role of the teacher whilst still having to be mum or dad. I am sure you are looking forward to a well-deserved rest over the summer holiday period! Lock-down has reminded me that the best things in life are the people we love, and the memories we make with these people along the way. I hope that you have made some memories with your little darlings throughout these difficult times that you will cherish forever. I have really enjoyed the regular communication, getting to know you all that little bit more. It was so nice to read your lovely emails and really feel that we were in this together. Your support, as always, is very much appreciated.

I wish you good health and happiness over the summer months and I look forward to seeing you all in September. Take care and stay safe!
