Back to School Information for Parents

Dear Parent(s) /Guardian(s)

We hope you had an enjoyable summer and are looking forward to the start of a new school year.

We recognise that ‘return to school’ is different this year.  We have been working hard to make sure that when the pupils do return, they do so to an environment that is safe and compliant with government guidance, but above all else, is tailored to meet the individual needs and circumstances of all our pupils and families. We aim to make your child’s return to school as smooth and reassuring as we possibly can so that our reputation for being a ‘caring, supportive, happy, learning environment’ is fulfilled.

There are a number of things that you need to be aware of now for your child’s return to school.

Each child should bring to school:-

  • Their own stationery in a clear pencil case if possible (2 pencils, rubber, sharpener, glue stick) to school. If they can bring their own set of twistables (or crayons for P1-P3/colouring pencils for P4-P7) also that would be appreciated. These will be left in school and should be used by your child only.
  • A lunch box (if required), a water bottle (if preferred) and a snack.
  • Money for lunches should be kept in an envelope with correct change if possible.
  • A coat when necessary
  • A packet of tissues

Any items such as lunch boxes and water bottles that are taken to and from school each day should be washed thoroughly upon arrival at home. Please label items, including uniforms to avoid items being misplaced or accidentally swapped.

Pupils should NOT bring to school:-

  • A school bag
  • Personal items, such as toys, books, etc

Further guidance will be made available soon on our website providing information about start times, school entrances to be used and measures we have put in place to ensure as smooth and as safe a return to school as possible.

Please be aware that that we will not be able to provide Before School and After School Club services as before. We are looking at ways that we can provide a ‘reduced’ service for Before and After School Clubs (up to 3.00pm) but this will not be available immediately.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely

Paul Bradley
