All of our pupils succeed and achieve their full potential. Children who need additional support are offered individual and group support, targeted to meet their needs.
In accordance with the Northern Ireland Code of Practice for Special Needs and the SENCO Order 2005, emphasis is placed on inclusion and early intervention for pupils. Individual and group education plans are put in place, to ensure effective support is offered to identified pupils.
Additional Literacy and Numeracy Invention Support is offered to selected pupils, based on their standardised test scores and class teachers’ professional judgement.
The school works in partnership with all relevant agencies including the WEA to ensure that appropriate, professional support is utilised for the benefit for all pupils.
The School has a fully equipped Sensory Room, a Hygiene Room, two enclosed Sensory Gardens , an ICT suite which caters for visually impaired children, classrooms which have been specifically adapted to suit children with hearing/visual difficulties.
We have a qualified Music Therapist and Speech Therapist on site.
